Icy is a well put together young gelding, short and compact, with an attractive head and neck, he has lovely floating movement, moves quite effortlessly. He is by our homebred stallion (now gelded), Laffranchi, who was sold to QLD and is doing extremely well in the showring most recently winning his Show Hunter Class 15hh to 15.2hh at Sydney Royal Easter Show 2018. Franchi is by San Rubin 11, who is currently competing Prix St Georges level dressage in WA. His dam, Jingle R is by Jive Magic, who was the Australian Grand Prix dressage champion at the Sydney CDI 2010, he has many wins at GP level until injury curtailed his career. Icy's dam, Misty Morning, is by Richmead Medallion, who began his dressage career with Heath Ryan, and was a top FEI competitor and competed at Grand Prix dressage with scores over 66%. Medallion is the sire of many Olympic discipline competition horses, competing at State and National dressage competition, and he is well represented in showjumping, eventing as well as in the hack ring. Medallion is by the world reknowned Danish stallion, May Sherif who sired many Grand Prix dressage horses including Andiamo, ridden by Sven Rothenburger, Olympic Team Gold medallist, and Matador, ridden by Kyra Kyrklund, also an individual Olympic medallist. May Sherif is recognised for passing on his talent for passage and piaffe to his offspring. Medallion's dam line includes a long line of internationally successful dressage horses, being by Dutch Gold who representd Great Britain in World Championships and Olympics with Jennifer Loriston-Clarke. Dutch Gold was by Dutch Courage, World Bronze Medal dressage horse, and he in turn sired many with talent for dressage, showjumping and eventing. Misty Morning's dam, Diamond Delight, is by Don Ramiro, a successful FEI horse, and her dam's sire was the very well known stallion, Salute, prolific producer of dressage and eventing horses. So with these bloodlines, Icy will be very competitive in any discipline he is asked to perform. Expected to mature 15.3hh. Icy was broken in through the month of December 2017, he spent 4 weeks with Ben Johnson of BBJ Equestrian Training, and took it all in his stride. He is forward moving, holds a frame very easily and is extremely attractive under saddle. This horse is going to be a star. Icy will be spelled over winter in order to mature.
