Sassy Fiji R Florestan
Faith In Kate Bianconi
Desert Beauty

This little mare at 15.2h is an absolute delight, with a cheeky and affectionate personality.  She is always first up to chat with anyone and loves the attention.  She is by Fiji R out of Faith in Kate (TB) and shows the ability both her parents have. Fiji R is competing successfully at PSG and Intermedaire level dressage and has just recently started Grand Prix. He passes on his super temperament to his foals. His sire is Florencio 1 who was the 5 and 6 year old World Champion young dressage horse. Faith in Kate went on to be a successful show hack. Sassy has light airy paces, with a lovely trot. She is a versatile little horse, as she shows ability and athleticism in anything she is asked to do. Sassy was broken in during June/July 2012 by Rowan Sheridan (ex AEBC). Sassy proved to be willing and quiet in whatever she was asked to do. She is easily clearing 60cm in the showjump arena, and training over cross country fences, and she is turning out to be a really fun young horse. She had her first outing on 6th October 2013 to the Goulburn and District Showjump Club and coped really well, and stood tied to the truck with no bother. She will make a handy eventer, or general allrounder for the smaller rider. Sassy was in light work from November 2015, as she had a year out when she cut her leg back in November 2014, injury wasn't serious, did not damage any tendons or ligaments but has left a scar on the front of her hock.  She then had her first outing since 2013 on 17th January 2016 at the MARC Dressage and Showjumping Competition (Murrumbateman) where she scored 64% in her first ever dressage test, and she had a clear round in the 60cm showjumping. She handled the atmosphere really well, there were 170 entries, so lots of noise and horses, and the bunting around the showjump arena didn't faze her at all. Sassy also had her first ODE start in March 2016, at the Berrima ODE, where she placed 6th in the Newcomers 60 cm. She had a lovely clear round of showjumping, and was brilliant over the cross country, clear and under time. She was a pleasure to take out and had her ears pricked the whole way round the xc course, looking for the next fence. Since then, Sassy was turned out for the winter of 2016 due it being extremely wet, she came back into consistent work in December 2016 and now has had her first 2 outings for 2017, the first one being the Goulburn Dressage Training Day on the 14th January, where the coach, Mark Dowling, was very complimentary, saying 'she is a nice horse with 3 regular paces and has good potential'. Her second outing was to the Goulburn Dressage Competition on 4th February, where she placed 4th in the 1.2 with 67.5%. Sassy competed in her 2nd ODE which was the Bungendore Mini ODE on 23rd April 2017 where she came 2nd in her class (60cm). Sassy has now had her 3rd ODE start and only her 2nd outing since last April, at the Berrima ODE, EV60, on March 23/24 2018, where she achieved 73% in her dressage, had a clear round showjumping in the middle of a storm with thunder, lightning and pouring rain, unfortunately rider error on cross country caused 20 jumping penalties dropping Sassy from 1st to 6th, but could not be more thrilled with this mare, Sassy is a seriously fun little horse. Sassy has continued to impress through 2019, never out ofthe placing in the ODE's and consistently scoring over 70% in dressage, most recently at Murrumbateman ARC showjumping and dressage competition on 19th May, where she was 3rd in the 1A with 70.14% and 6th in the 60cm shojumping with a double clear and against the clock. Sassy is now confidently jumping 75-80cm.
