Description

Sonny Bill is a tall, strong young gelding. He moves well, has a big expressive trot and canter. Sonny Bill's dam's sire is Valtimo who was sired by Valuta, a Danish Trakener imported to Australia in 1982 by Gert and Mary (now Hanna) Donvig. He was one of the first horses to compete at Grand Prix Level dressage in Australia. In 1988, Valuta and Gert Donvig were shortlisted for the Seoul Olympics. Valuta appears in the pedigrees of many successful horses in each of the Olympic disciplines. Sonny Bill is by Laffranchi, our homebred stallion, who is by San Rubin 11, imported by Bloomfield Farm and since sold to WA, and is competing successfully in Prix St Georges and Inter 1 Level Dressage. He is also showing talent over jumps. Laffranchi's dam is Jingle R, by Jive Magic who was an extremely successful Grand Prix horse before injury ended his career, and Jingle's dam is by Don Ramiro, also a very successful dressage horse trained and ridden by Heath Ryan, and was owned by Kristy Oatley. He finished his days with Revelwood Stud. So with these lines, Sonny Bill will be competitive in any discipline. He has been taught to lead, tie up, worm and trim. Expected to mature 16.2hh. Sonny has just been broken in (1st August - 16th September 2016), and was really quite trainable, he has become very affectionate and just loves carrots, currently spelling until December where he will have a couple of weeks back in work as a refresher.
